STILLING /SOBRE EL BAILAR COMO DESCANSO/
Artistic residency at MIHL from July 2 to 13, 2025.
Open showing: July 12, 2025 at MIHL Museum.
This proposal emerges from an extensive research process on the exhausted body as a dancing subject. STILLING does not imply a denial of movement or a renunciation of dancing, but rather a celebration of dance as potentiality.
Situated between contemplation and action, the practice confronts the hyper-acceleration and hyperactivity of contemporary societies, making visible our vulnerability as sentient bodies. A work connected to the artist’s life trajectory and her experiences of extreme exhaustion.
A sensitive rebellion against the imperative to always be useful and productive. An embodied claim of dancing as rest. In this context, Tania González, accompanied by composer and musician Sara Muñiz, will explore the practice of STILLING as a performative device through an affective dialogue with MIHL.
