Nashira Santanatalia y Gustavo Giménez – VENERES

Artistic residency at MIHL from 29 August to 7 September 2024. 
Exhibition: 6 September at the MIHL Museum in Lugo.

The piece is inspired by Katia Acín's engravings (Gran mujer and Maternidades 1997-2004) which consists of a series of improvised sketches, navigating between sound, movement and space.
We want to continue our research on the musicality of movement and the physicality of sound to further develop a joint practice where there is an exchange between dance, music and technology. 
This piece is an investigation of the limits of oneself and the effort to find relief, there is an obsessive search for balance.
The piece is based on improvisation and fixed material interacting with the sound created by Gustavo and the space, shaping a chain of choices within the improvised composition between musician, dancer and space.
