DOBLES proposes a deep exploration of unity and interdependence from a philosophical, emotional, and playful perspective.
Within the piece, the connection between bodies symbolizes the collaboration, support, and trust necessary to co-exist, while also raising questions about the loss or merging of identity.
What is real and what is a copy? What is or is not an extension of oneself? Where does individual will stand in relation to connection with the other?
This process investigates references such as echo, symmetry, and duality, questioning what it means to be part of a whole, confronting ideas of fusion and alienation, the intimate and the transcendental.
It also seeks to transform the stage into a space where the philosophical intertwines with the popular, the emotional with the grotesque, and the abstract with the everyday.
